Biological Activity

ln Vitro By altering granules' surface characteristics, Tween 20 can reduce ineffective protein adsorption by altering surface adsorption, hydrogen bonding ability, and adsorption [1]. The apparent solubility of the medication can be greatly increased from 0.8 μg/mL to 353 μg/mL when Tween 20 (0.35%-0.7% w/w) is added to 0.05 mol/L pH 6.5 phosphate buffer. However, its effect is less pronounced at lower pH values or in water (20 μg/mL at pH 4.5). The solubility of candesartan medoxomil increased to 620 μg/mL when the phosphate concentration (0.2 M) was increased at pH 6.5 in the presence of 0.7% polysorbate 20 [2].

Solubility Data

Solubility (In Vitro) DMSO : ~50 mg/mL
Solubility (In Vivo) Solubility in Formulation 1: ≥ 1.67 mg/mL (Infinity mM) (saturation unknown) in 10% DMSO + 90% Corn Oil (add these co-solvents sequentially from left to right, and one by one), clear solution.
For example, if 1 mL of working solution is to be prepared, you can add 100 μL of 16.7 mg/mL clear DMSO stock solution to 900 μL of corn oil and mix evenly.

(Please use freshly prepared in vivo formulations for optimal results.)
Preparing Stock Solutions 1 mg 5 mg 10 mg
1 mM 1.9133 mL 9.5663 mL 19.1325 mL
5 mM 0.3827 mL 1.9133 mL 3.8265 mL
10 mM 0.1913 mL 0.9566 mL 1.9133 mL
*Note: Please select an appropriate solvent for the preparation of stock solution based on your experiment needs. For most products, DMSO can be used for preparing stock solutions (e.g. 5 mM, 10 mM, or 20 mM concentration); some products with high aqueous solubility may be dissolved in water directly. Solubility information is available at the above Solubility Data section. Once the stock solution is prepared, aliquot it to routine usage volumes and store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
