Biological Activity
| ln Vitro | Phosphorylcholine materials, which have a molecular replica of the main zwitterionic phospholipid headgroup present in the cell lipid membrane, are bioinspired polymers that resemble the extracellular surface of red blood cells. The PC-polymer's phosphorylcholine side chain includes the phosphate moiety found in phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylserine, the latter of which is a membrane lipid component involved in biomineralization and capable of binding calcium[1]. |
