This product is for research use only, not for human use. We do not sell to patients.

DAB (tetra HCl hydrate) is extensively used as a chromogenic substrate in immunohistochemistry and enzymatic histochemistry to visualize the antigen or enzyme of interest. When oxidized by hydrogen peroxide, DAB (tetra HCl hydrate) will produce a brown precipitate at the location of the antigen or enzyme, which is easy to detect and observe under a microscope. In addition, DAB (tetra HCl hydrate) also may be utilized in other research areas, such as the development of biosensors and the study of cellular oxidative stress.

Additional Infomation 3,3'-diaminobenzidine is a member of the class of biphenyls that is benzidine in which one of the hydrogens ortho to each of the amino groups has been replaced by an amino group. It has a role as a histological dye. It is a member of biphenyls and a substituted aniline. A chemically and thermodynamically stable derivative of BENZIDINE.

Solubility Data

Solubility (In Vitro) DMSO: 100 mg/mL (277.69 mM)
H2O: 50 mg/mL (138.85 mM)
Solubility (In Vivo) Solubility in Formulation 1: ≥ 2.5 mg/mL (6.94 mM) (saturation unknown) in 10% DMSO + 90% Corn Oil (add these co-solvents sequentially from left to right, and one by one), clear solution.
For example, if 1 mL of working solution is to be prepared, you can add 100 μL of 25.0 mg/mL clear DMSO stock solution to 900 μL of corn oil and mix evenly.

(Please use freshly prepared in vivo formulations for optimal results.)
Preparing Stock Solutions 1 mg 5 mg 10 mg
1 mM 2.7769 mL 13.8846 mL 27.7693 mL
5 mM 0.5554 mL 2.7769 mL 5.5539 mL
10 mM 0.2777 mL 1.3885 mL 2.7769 mL
*Note: Please select an appropriate solvent for the preparation of stock solution based on your experiment needs. For most products, DMSO can be used for preparing stock solutions (e.g. 5 mM, 10 mM, or 20 mM concentration); some products with high aqueous solubility may be dissolved in water directly. Solubility information is available at the above Solubility Data section. Once the stock solution is prepared, aliquot it to routine usage volumes and store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze and thaw cycles.
