Cortistatin-14 TFA (CST-14) is a novel and potent cyclic neuropeptide that has structural similarity to somatostatin-14. Cortistatin-14 exerts anticonvulsive, neuroprotective effect and anti-inflammatory activity by binding to the somatostatin receptors (sst1-sst5). Cortistatin (CST-14) is a recently discovered endogenous peptide which shares similarity to somatostatin and binds to somatostatin receptors.
