Clofarabine-5'-diphosphate (Clofarabine-DP) is a metabolite of clofarabine phosphorylated by deoxycytidine kinase (dCK). Clofarabine-5'-diphosphate can be further phosphorylated to clofarabine-5'-triphosphate and exhibits cytotoxicity in cancer cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis and DNA repair.
