| Description | Propidium Iodide (PI) is a red fluorescent dye that can be used for cell staining for fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and fluorometer analysis. In aqueous solution, the Ex/Em of Propidium Iodide is 493/636 nm; upon binding to nucleic acids, the Ex/Em of PI-nucleic acid becomes 535/617 nm and the fluorescence signal is enhanced by 20-30 times. |
