Description Medronic acid (Methylenediphosphonic acid), a methylene-substituted bisphosphonate, exhibits affinity for and adherence to hydroxyapatite crystals within the bone matrix. Accumulating at sites of osteoid mineralization, it is utilized, often in conjunction with radioisotopes, for bone imaging.
