| Description | 2-methoxycinnamaldehyde is a natural compound of Cinnamomum cassia, has been widely studied with regard to its antitumor activity. |
| In vitro | 2-methoxycinnamaldehyde(2-MCA) inhibited cell proliferation in SK-Hep-1 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. The inhibitory concentration (IC50) value following 48 hours of incubation was 25.72 μM[1]. |
| Cell experiments | Cells were seeded in 96-well culture plates (1×10^4 cells/well). After incubated for 24 hours, the cells were treated with different concentrations of 2-MCA for 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours. The cell viability was determined by Cell Proliferation Kit II (XTT) following the manufacturer's protocol. The absorbance was measured using Tecan infinite M200 spectrophotometer at 492 nm with a reference wavelength of 650 nm[1]. |
