Bioactivity Umifenovir-d6 (hydrochloride) is the deuterium labeled Umifenovir hydrochloride. Umifenovir hydrochloride is a potent, orally active broad-spectrum antiviral with activity against a number of enveloped and non-enveloped viruses. Umifenovir hydrochloride is used as an anti-influenza virus agent. Umifenovir hydrochloride could effectively inhibit the fusion of virus with host cells[1][2]. Umifenovir hydrochloride is an efficient inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2 in vitro. Anti-inflammatory activity[3].
Invitro Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
