Bioactivity Tricaine-d5 (methanesulfonate) is the deuterium labeled Tricaine-d5 methanesulfonate. Tricaine methanesulfonate (MS-222) is a commonly used anaesthetic agent for immobilization of aquatic species. Tricaine methanesulfonate, the most widely used anaesthetic in fish, has been shown to induce embryotoxic effects in zebrafish[1][2].
