Bioactivity Cyclo-(Pro-Gly) (Pyrrolopiperazine-2,5-dione), an alkaloid isolated from green algae Ulva prolifera, possesses antialgal activity against the common harmful red tide microalgae[1]. Cyclo-(Pro-Gly) (Pyrrolopiperazine-2,5-dione) possesses antiamnesic effects and neuroprotective actions[2].
In Vivo Cyclo-(Pro-Gly) (0.1 and 10 mg/kg, ip ) seems to be a memory facilitating substance and its presence in rat brain suggests the existence of a new mechanism of memory regulation[3].
