Bioactivity 3-(Cyclohexylamino)-1-propanesulfonic Acid-d17 is the deuterium labeled CAPS[1]. CAPS, cyclohexylaminopropane sulfonic acid, is a surfactant. CAPS can be used as biological buffer (0.05 M, pH 11) for dialysis[2][3].
Invitro Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
