| Description | Acetyl-(Cys3,Nle4,Arg5,D-2-Nal7,Cys11)-α-MSH (3-11) amide also called HS024, showed about 20-fold selectivity and very high affinity (Ki = 0.29 nM) for the melanocortin-4 (MC4) receptor and also increased the food intake, indicating that blockade of the MC4 receptor is a highly effective way to increase feeding. For MC4, MC5, MC3, and MC1, Ki is 0.29, 3.29, 5.45, and 18.6 nM respectively. |
